From 1912 to 1930 Thomas Jones was a civil servant, first in Wales and then, from 1916 in Whitehall, where he became Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet. He worked closely with and knew well LLoyd George (whose Life he has written) Bonar Law, Stanley Baldwin and Ramsay MacDonald. The present volueme begins in 1931 when Dr. Jones retired from the civil service to become the first Secretary of the Pilgrim Trust. Black & white photographs.
